Hi, I?m just tickled all sorts of colors that you?re here! Thank you so much for buying my book! I?m a 45 year old mother of 3 sons and a daughter. All 4 of my children are totally perfect in their individual imperfections. I also have a perfect lil grandson and another one on the way. My love bubbleth over! I have learned many things throughout the years, some of which I?m sharing with you in this book along with a few tried and true recipes. I hope this book inspires you to start saving money.

1. Go junkin?, save money! Thrift stores, consignment sales and yard sales! Use your imagination to repurpose someone else?s castaways. I buy everything from pots and pans to shirts and shoes for a fraction of their new price. Most thrift stores replenish their stock throughout the day so there is really no specific time to shop but always ask if they have a monthly half off sale for even greater deals! Yard sales on the other hand put their goods out from the get go so go early to get the best items but remember most sellers will come down off the price at the end of their sale just to be done with it, some will even sale everything that is left for one price which is great if you?re thinking about having your own yard sale. Consignment sales generally hold a half off on the last day of their sale. Just remember most items are one of a kind so if you see something you ?might? want, pick it up, you can always put it back but once someone else picks it up, it?s too bad, so sad for you. When buying used items always check for blemishes, check zippers, tears and stains on clothing, loose screws, scratched paint etc. Most items can be cleaned, patched, repainted, mended or even repurposed to suit your specific needs. And yes, I did say shoes?ewww? Well initially, yes but, a lot of shoes can be washed in the washer but the others? They can be cleaned with a wet cloth, air dried and sprayed with Lysol, it kills 99.9% of all germs!

2. Get what you need FREE! Yes, for FREE! But how? Well, if you have the internet you absolutely must check out freecycle.org. Freecycle is a Yahoo based site where people can post useable items they no longer need or want or even ask for an item, within reason. I mean no one is going to give you a house but they?ll give you all the canning jars you?d ever need! You will need to register with your Yahoo account and then pick the area closest to where you live. Picking a close area is important as you will have to pick the item up. I live close to Nashville, TN so I belong to the Nashville freecycle area. I have given away children?s stick horses, bed rails, clothes, toys etc. I have also received a gas grill, a hanging lamp and flower bulbs. Once you register check their site daily for great deals from packing peanuts and moving boxes to pocket books and hardback books.
